The founder, Diwakar Kukreja ever since his growing up years used to celebrate all
his special days at some or other NGO. However , he didn't witness or hear about
such things being done in his friend circle either in school or in college.
Much later when social media came into existence he casually posted about his
b’day celebration at a school for blind kids.
That post got him an unexpected response of endless praise and blessings.
After that post , Interestingly - some of his friends shared how even they celebrated
in similar ways and some other friends found the idea very new and very noble.
The ones who were new to the idea - started reaching out to him to seek ideas to
celebrate their b’days, their kids ’ birthdays, and festivals in a similar manner at
different NGOs. All that Diwakar suggested was to just pick up a cause dear to their
heart and contribute towards it anyway as per their budgets and comfort.
That was when the idea of Karma Goals 1st struck him.
Everyone wants to give back to society in their own ways.
They just need some inspiration or gentle push, and in some cases company of
like-minded people.
So when COVID struck, the name Karma Goals was an instinctive choice to give a
collective identity to lakhs of people who spent their time, money, and efforts to fight
the biggest humanitarian crisis of all times
